PLSC SURVEYOR OF THE YEAR

IN ORDER TO ACKNOWLEDGE THOSE MEMBERS OF PLSC WHO GIVE OF THEMSELVES IN A SPECIAL WAY BY THEIR EXCEPTIONAL CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE ADVANCEMENT OF THE SURVEYING PROFESSION AND OUTSTANDING SERVICE TO THE PUBLIC.

IN ORDER TO MAKE THIS RECOGNITION MEANINGFUL:
An award may be formally presented at the Annual Meeting or other appropriate event to the PLSC "SURVEYOR OF THE YEAR." The person selected shall be chosen in accordance with the following guidelines:
1.  Shall be a registered, professional surveyor whose registration is current and in full force and effect and shall be a member of PLSC, Inc., in good standing. (Need not be licensed in the State of Colorado.)
2.  Shall be nominated by a PLSC Chapter or by a voting member of PLSC. The nominator shall submit a brief resume of the nominee's qualifications and accomplishments to the PLSC Awards Committee by December 15th of a given year to be eligible for awards designated for that year.
3.  Shall be selected by ballot of the PLSC Board of Directors at least thirty days prior to the presentation of the award.
SOME typical attributes to be considered are:
  1. Demonstration of extraordinary leadership abilities while responding to the needs of the membership.
  2. Use of innovation and originality in the accomplishment of complex surveying projects.
  3. Firm adherence to the highest degrees of professional conduct and standards.
  4. Singular accomplishment of special assignments and obligations in the promotion of the surveying profession.
The PLSC "SURVEYOR OF THE YEAR" award shall consist of an engraved plaque, or other award judged appropriate by the PLSC Board of Directors.

Revisions to these criteria shall be by approval of the PLSC Board of Directors.

Proper notice shall be provided for an announcement of the selected candidate in SIDE SHOTS. Along with their picture will be an article describing the surveyor's achievements. Each PLSC Chapter will be encouraged to publicize this announcement as well as to give local recognition to their nominee.

PLSC CITIZEN-SURVEYOR OF THE YEAR

IN ORDER TO ACKNOWLEDGE THOSE MEMBERS OF PLSC WHO GIVE OF THEMSELVES IN A SPECIAL WAY BY THEIR PERFORMANCE OF HIGHLY BENEFICIAL SERVICES TO THE SURVEYING PROFESSION AND TO THE COMMUNITY.

IN ORDER TO MAKE THIS RECOGNITION MEANINGFUL:
An award may be formally presented at the Annual Meeting or other appropriate event to the PLSC "CITIZEN-SURVEYOR OF THE YEAR." The person. selected shall be chosen in accordance with the following guidelines:
1.   Shall be a registered professional surveyor in the State of Colorado whose registration is current and in full force and effect, and shall be a voting member of PLSC, Inc., in good standing.
2.   Shall be nominated by a PLSC Chapter or by a voting member of PLSC.  The nominator shall submit a brief resume of the nominee's qualifications and accomplishments to the PLSC Awards Committee by December 15th of a given year to be eligible for awards designated for that year.
3.   Shall be selected by ballot of the PLSC Board of Directors at least thirty days prior to the presentation of the award.
SOME typical attributes to be considered are:
  1. Continued involvement in service related activities within the community.
  2. Effective furtherance of public awareness as to the function of surveying.
  3. Evinced ability to make a difference by work, concern and consideration.
  4. Long-standing commitment to the development and advancement of the surveying profession.
The PLSC "CITIZEN-SURVEYOR OF THE YEAR" award shall consist of an engraved plaque or other award judged appropriate by the PLSC Board of Directors.

Revisions to these criteria shall be by approval of the PLSC Board of Directors.

PLSC DISTINGUISHED SERVICE

 
IN ORDER TO ACKNOWLEDGE THOSE INDIVIDUALS WHO GIVE OF THEMSELVES IN A SPECIAL WAY BY THEIR DISTINGUISHED SERVICE TO THE SURVEYING PROFESSION.

IN ORDER TO MAKE THIS RECOGNITION MEANINGFUL:
A PLSC “DISTINGUISHED SERVICE" award/s may be presented at the Annual Meeting or other appropriate event to a person(s chosen in accordance with the following guidelines:
1.   Shall be in the profession of surveying, or shall have substantially contributed to the profession of surveying. (Need not be registered or a member of PLSC, Inc.)
2.   Shall be nominated by a PLSC Chapter or by a voting member of PLSC. The nominator shall submit a brief resume of the nominee's qualifications and accomplishments to the PLSC Awards Committee by December 15th of a given year to be eligible for awards designated for that year.
3.   Shall be selected by ballot of the PLSC Board of Directors at least thirty days prior to the presentation of the award.
SOME typical attributes to be considered are:
  1. Exceptional work on standing or special committees or related endeavors.
  2. Participation in special projects contributing to the enrichment of the surveying profession.
  3. Performance of notable service to PLSC, Inc. to a Chapter or to the public on behalf of the above.
  4. Dedication to the development and advancement of the surveying profession.
The PLSC "DISTINGUISHED SERVICE" award shall consist of an engraved plaque or other award judged appropriate by the PLSC Board of Directors.

Revisions to these criteria shall be by approval of the PLSC Board of Directors.

Appropriate notice of the person(s chosen for this award shall be provided for in an announcement in SIDE SHOTS. Each PLSC Chapter will be encouraged to publicize this announcement as well as to give local recognition to those chosen for this award .

Presidential Citation

PLSC APPRECIATION

IN ORDER TO ACKNOWLEDGE THOSE INDIVIDUALS WHO GIVE OF THEMSELVES IN A SPECIAL WAY BY THEIR SIGNIFICANT SERVICE TO THE SURVEYING PROFESSION.

IN ORDER TO MAKE THIS RECOGNITION MEANINGFUL:
A PLSC "APPRECIATION" award is a less formal way of recognizing individuals for significant service and may be presented at any appropriate time to those persons selected in accordance with the following guidelines:
1.   Shall be in the profession of surveying, or shall have significantly contributed to the profession of surveying.  (Need not be registered or a member of PLSC, Inc.)
 
2.   May be designated, at any time, by a member of the Board of Directors of PLSC, Inc., the Chair of a standing or special committee or the Chair of any special event.
SOME typical attributes to be considered are:
  1. Active participation as an officer or director of the organization.
  2. Generous contribution to standing or special committees and related endeavors above and beyond that normally expected.
  3. Outstanding service to the surveying profession.
  4. Dedication to the development and advancement of the surveying profession.
The PLSC "APPRECIATION" award shall consist of an engraved plaque or certificate containing the PLSC logo and an appropriate inscription and shall be suitable for wall or desk display.

Amendments to this proposal shall be by the Board of Directors of PLSC, Inc.

Each PLSC Chapter will be encouraged to publicize the announcement of awards to members of their organization in their newsletter, at one of their regular meetings or by other appropriate announcement.

PLSC HONORARY LIFE MEMBERSHIP

 
IN ORDER TO ACKNOWLEDGE THOSE MEMBERS OF PLSC WHO GIVE OF THEMSELVES IN A SPECIAL WAY BY THEIR PROMINENT AND CONSPICUOUS SERVICE TO THE SURVEYING PROFESSION, TO THE PUBLIC AND TO THEIR COMMUNITY.

IN ORDER TO MAKE THIS RECOGNITION MEANINGFUL:
A PLSC "HONORARY LIFE MEMBERSHIP” award/s may be given at the Annual Meeting or other suitable events to those who have been selected in accordance with the following  guidelines:
 
  1. Shall be a registered, professional surveyor whose registration is current and in full force and effect and shall be a member of PLSC, Inc., in good standing. (Need not be licensed in the State of Colorado.)
  2. Shall be nominated by a PLSC Chapter or by a voting member of PLSC. The nominator shall submit a resume of the nominee's qualifications and accomplishments to the PLSC Awards Committee by December 15th of a given year to be eligible for awards designated for that year.
  3. Shall be selected by ballot of the PLSC Board of Directors at least thirty days prior to the presentation of the award.
 
SOME typical attributes to be considered are:
  1. An outstanding and distinguished career as a professional surveyor.
  2. Development of an exceptional reputation because of many contributions to surveying related and community minded issues.
 
All Past Presidents of PLSC, Inc. shall be eligible for PLSC "HONORARY LIFE MEMBERSHIP" upon completion of their terms.
 
Honorary Life Members will retain all privileges of their current membership classification, whether Voting, Associate or Retired with all the benefits befitting these classifications.
 
The PLSC "HONORARY LIFE MEMBERSHIP" award shall consist of an engraved plaque, or other award judged appropriate by the PLSC Board of Directors.
 
Revisions to this proposal shall be by approval of the PLSC Board of Directors.
